The Fringe doesn't recommend shows.

It just lists thousands of them. Flyer learns what you loved last August and points you at the ones worth your time.

Every show is scored out of 10 against your taste — the genres, styles and acts you've told us you like, plus the shows you rate highly. Points stack, and dislikes subtract:

• +6 — a show by an act you like (or one you rated 4★+ before, here or in your history)
• +2 — each style/vibe you like that the show is tagged with (character comedy, drag, storytelling, clowning…)
• +1 — the show's genre is one you like
• − — anything you've disliked (or thumbed down) subtracts the same amounts, so it sinks down the list

Set this up under Settings → Your taste, or use the 👍 / 👎 on any row to tune as you browse. Rate a show you've seen 4★+ and other shows by that act rise automatically.

Haven't picked anything yet? You'll see our starter picks until you do. Turn off "Matches only" to browse the whole programme, including the other Edinburgh festivals (Book, Film, Jazz, Science, Art, Children's, Tattoo, EIF).
